Easy Strawberry Banana Freezy

Your love
Is better than ice cream.
Better than anything else that I've tried
And your love
Is better than ice cream
Everyone here knows how to cry

-Sarah McLachlan

This is a fake ice cream/sorbet!  You don't need an ice cream maker. It's great for kids or people who don't drink dairy. It takes about 30 seconds to make. The possibilities are endless.

What you need:

  • some frozen fruit- try strawberry, blueberry, mango, banana, raspberry
  • some fresh fruit
  • a food processor

Optional items

  • agave syrup or honey - if it needs it
  • almond milk, rice milk, soy milk or regular old cow.
  • yogurt
  • juice

I just liked the sticker on the banana! This is a quick option when you feel like having something like ice cream or if your kids are bugging you for a dessert. Its good for you because essentially it's just fruit. I always freeze fruit when it's in season and you can buy great frozen fruit at any grocery. Buy the fruit that has nothing added, just fruit.

Step 1: Add fruit to the bowl of a food processor. I used 2 frozen bananas and about 9 frozen strawberries. Process until it looks grainy.

Step 2: I added approx 1/4 cup of almond milk and a squeeze of honey. Agave nectar is another great alternative and it is available at every grocery store. Process again.

Looks like soft ice cream. if you want to eat it like this go ahead. Taste it! Some fruit is more sour than others. If it need more sweetener add it, if not leave it.

Step 3: Put into a bowl, cover and freeze for 1 hour if you want to scoop into a container.

Top with some fresh fruit, put it in a pretty glass...TA DA!!

Possibilities are endless and so much better than most store bought choices.
